NCTU workshop for CLTHE

National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) is one of the top universities in Taiwan, they have recently received £25M per annum from government to improve teaching and research. Wen-Shao works with President of NCTU, Prof. Frank Chang, to put a work package into the proposal to enhance teaching quality of academics. Having helped NCTU to communicate with HEA (formerly Higher Education Academy, now AdvanceHE), we have brought HEA into Taiwan. In the first year, Dr. Catherine Hack from HEA, runs programme of Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (CLTHE) in NCTU. The programme includes three workshops and focuses on course design, assessment, feedback, and other relevant issues in Higher Education. After the workshops, participants are equipped with the knowledge required to be awarded Fellow status in HEA. NCTU becomes the very first university looks into how to improve teaching quality pedagogically and strive to have their academics to be awarded teaching qualification that is international recognised.
